Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Aamir Khan, may not have been well received by Indian audiences, but it is breaking box office records abroad. The movie is currently the highest-grossing Indian film of the year on the foreign scene, according to Bollywood Hungama. It has surpassed the box office totals for hits like “Bhool Bhulaiyya 2,” “The Kashmir Files,” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi.”
Overtaking “Gangubai Kathiawadi” ($7.47 million), “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” ($5.88 million), and “The Kashmir Files” ($5.7 million), the movie has made $7.5 million globally. The Telugu movie “RRR” has made $20 million in foreign markets, but it has yet to make a dent in its financial success.
Laal Singh Chaddha has only been able to earn 56 crore rupees domestically at the movie office. Despite being released during long weekends, the movie failed to draw crowds to theatres. As a result, the movie ended up being one of Aamir Khan’s biggest failures. It competed at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s “Raksha Bandhan,” but both movies let down the audience.
Due to a previous statement made by Aamir Khan, “Laal Singh Chaddha” had to deal with harsh criticism and boycott requests on social media. Before the movie’s premiere, hashtags like “boycott Aamir Khan” and “boycott Laal Singh Chaddha” were popular among internet users.
The Advait Chandan-directed movie “Laal Singh Chaddha” is an approved remake of the Tom Hanks-led 1994 American movie “Forrest Gump.” Along with Aamir Khan, it also prominently features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh.
