On becoming the top taxpayer, Akshay Kumar says: ‘It’s one of the best feelings’

The Income Tax authorities apparently recognized superstar Akshay Kumar, who has always been meticulous about paying his taxes, as the nation’s “highest taxpayer” recently.

Akshay responded to ANI’s inquiry by saying:”Ji mujhe kaha to yehi gaya hai (about being the highest taxpayer). I am really honoured. It feels great that the Income Tax department recognises the whole thing and gives credit to people. Also, It’s good that when you earn, you give it back to the country.”

“It’s one of the best feelings,” stated the delighted “Khiladi” star.

According to reports, Kumar was on the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid entertainers in 2015 and 2019, coming in at number 52 with earnings of USD 48.5 million (Rs 386 crore approx). A significant portion of his income comes from brand endorsements in addition to movies.

Fans praised the actor for becoming a “responsible citizen” at the tax department.
