The story of the film revolves around three close friends who want to carry the bones of one of their friends to the peak of Everest in the Himalayas.. How do these friends of over 70 years go to the peak of Everest..?? How many hurdles do they face during the journey and do they succeed in reaching there or not..?? All this is shown in the movie.
Talking about acting, even today it is difficult to find an alternative to Amitabh Bachchan. He has played his role well. Apart from Amitabh, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani are also in important roles. 2022 has been an amazing year for Anupam Kher. Almost all his films have collected well and in this movie too he has stepped it up in terms of acting. Danny has not had much screen presence but has left a good impression in small roles. Parineeti Chopra plays the role of a hiker who reaches the top of Everest. Parineeti Chopra has not had any special work but yes she must have felt the joy of working with such amazing actors.
Even though the story is quite simple, the music of the film does a wonderful job of keeping the film going till the end. A poignant music takes a pure family movie movie to a different level. There are 3 songs in the movie and all the three songs are great to listen to.
Whenever Sooraj Barjataya has directed, he has poured his soul into it. And this film is no exception. Be it the tangle of relationship tensions or the adventures of three seniors who face the adversities of age and social and family problems, they have succeeded in portraying all the motifs beautifully.
‘Uunchai’ is a great example that proves that age is never a barrier to achieve anything.. Highly recommend.
