When it was rumoured that Jennifer Lawrence would make her Bollywood debut opposite SSR..

When Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for Best Actress when she was only 22 years old, she went on to star in some of the most critically acclaimed and financially successful movies over the following several years. Did you know, though, that Jennifer was rumoured to be making her Bollywood debut quite early in her career, and that too opposite Sushant Singh Rajput?

Paani, an ambitious science fiction and adventure movie that Shekhar Kapur conceptualised years ago, was released. Things started to move for the movie around the turn of the century, and the filmmaker announced in 2013 that Sushant Singh Rajput had agreed to play the male lead.

Less than a week after the story broke, Shekhar put an end to all rumours when he said Jennifer was not in the movie. She hadn’t even been approached, according to him. “No one has contacted Jennifer Lawrence about Paani. On January 8, 2014, Shekhar tweeted, “Jennifer Lawrence has not been approached for Paani. Just clearing out the rumors,”
